One year ago this week we launched Nick Kelsh’s Daily Photo Tips. It’s been an incredible year starting this new business with the Tips, the How to Photograph Your Life website and the Going-Manual Course, as well as developing an exciting new course whose launch is imminent—Nick Kelsh’s Basic Photography!

We’ve been promising a site redesign since last August and finally, it really is close on the horizon—we plan to unveil it by April. But, in the meantime, it’s been a full year since I started writing the Daily Tips and, as much as I’ve loved writing them, it’s time for a new incarnation. So don’t worry, we’ve got plenty more in store for you—just in a different package!

So we’re alerting you to what will happen in the future as our current subscription will not be renewable but please note we’re not changing anything about the subscription you paid for and all current subscribers will get what they were promised—a year’s worth of photo tips to be delivered in the daily email and also accessible in archives on the website. Please remember that the subscription cost was for one year only and not set up as a recurring charge so your subscription will essentially end one year from whatever date you signed up. However, as a courtesy, we will extend the subscription of all subscribers whose year expires between now and our relaunch, so your daily email will not be interrupted. You don’t need to worry about doing anything until we relaunch—at which point we certainly hope you’ll sign up for our new subscription!

So starting next Monday, February 11, the Daily Photo Tip email will continue to be sent out on the Monday through Saturday schedule. However, for those of you who subscribed with us right from the beginning, the actual Photo Tip will be cycling through again. In other words, as your year is up, you may recognize repeats as you receive the complimentary extension of the emails (hey, who couldn’t use a refresher on a tough concept or a reminder of a good idea?!) And here’s the good news: I will continue to include a new Fan Photo of the Day and my Pep Talk works of wisdom so your daily email will always include fresh material that will be of value to you.

And, for those of you, who joined us in the following months through July 2012, you should not be affected, as the Daily Tip will be new to you. We realize that, if you’ve had time to dig deep into the archives you, too, may recognize a tip that was posted prior to your specific subscription date. But we do want to emphasize that everyone will receive the full year’s worth of tips you signed up for!

Our tech team is gearing up the website and we will have all the great features we’ve been promising—a gallery, community, new weekly videos, posts at least three times a week from yours truly, guest posts and more.

The full year’s worth of Photo Tips will be featured in an archive on the new website and subscribers will continue to have access to them. We plan to reorganize and redesign the site so the tips are easy to search and get to.
