Well, what would you do with a smashed pumpkin?
Okay, okay, I smashed it to photograph it, I admit it. I had the face shot of Alexander and decided to make it more ghoulish.
I did it in PhotoShop and used layers. That part was pretty straightforward.
I put my wireless lighting kit inside the pumpkin which was pretty cool and worked like a charm. That thing does see to come in handy at holidays. I just tried to get the inside to glow and hopefully match the lighting that was already on Alexander’s face. It’s not perfect but close enough.
But probably the best part was showing the picture to Alexander and watching him look at me thinking that I was actually sort of cool.
Surely if any holiday lends itself to image manipulation it’s got to be Halloween. The possibilities are beyond endless, obviously.
Regardless of your editing skills you can always put a flashlight under your ghouls chin and turn in green in your color balance window. I think it’s really important to have kids watch adults have fun with the things they’re passionate about. Go turn a kid you know into a monster.
And for what it’s worth, I toasted the pumpkin seeds.
