#11 – Lori Hammer Hull
Lori’s 17-year-old son spent his summer at basic training. His nine-year-old sister missed him more than anyone realized. This was the first “hello” after the eleven weeks separation. Look at how little of her face we see and yet it’s all we need. The contrast in their emotions in the body language is just amazing. It’s a family photo for sure, but this photo is also a cultural icon. So many people give so much and are loved so hard for it. Wow. I just love this photograph.
