#3 – Kathy Hallo Mason
One day they may be able to look back and see that it was just better this way. What a GREAT wedding photograph!
Here are Kathy’s words:
“Last Saturday my son and his fiancé got married! It was 7+ years in the making! They were married outside, on the grounds of Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron, Oh. The grounds are gorgeous! Just 2 weeks before when my son visited, there wasn’t a leaf on the trees. Spring is very late here in Ohio this year. My daughter-in-law was to walk down a 450 foot birch tree isle. The leaves finally popped in time for their wedding day! It was going to be beautiful! 30 minutes before she was to walk down the isle, she had a big decision to make. You see, it was starting to sprinkle and they needed to know if she wanted to get married outside as planned or in the tent that was on standby. She said she had no intentions of getting married in a tent! So the guests were seated outside and all were given umbrellas “just in case”. The bride walked down the gorgeous birch tree isle with lily of the valley lining the path. She was stunning. The rain started to pick up and before you know it, it was raining, thundering, lightning and the temperature dropped 10 degrees (now 58 degrees) as the bride and groom exchanged their vows. This picture says it all! You can see how hard the rain is coming down, the officiant is smiling even though the plastic sleeves in his book are covered in raindrops, the bride’s sister does her reading flawlessly, everyone is trying to stay dry under the umbrellas, and the bride is smiling from ear to ear! Kudos to the bride and groom and the entire bridal party! They never skipped a beat! The next day, I asked my daughter-in-law if she made the right choice, she said, “YES! I never planned to get married in a tent!” 😊”
