36. Abbie Winter
OK, first of all, this image is absolutely over the centerfield wall. 500 feet. (Baseball season is coming. Get ready. I can’t stop myself.) So I stared at the horizontal version for a long, long time. And it crossed my mind that I just might be better to get in closer—where am I heard that before? For me that meant crop the picture into a vertical. So now I’ve sat here and stared at the horizontal version and the vertical version for quite a long time. That several minutes for me. I’m not sure which one I like better. All that black space is cool. Getting in close on that exploding flute is really cool, too. In either case, let’s keep our on the prize here. This is a tremendous portrait of an artist. It’s that simple. Way to go, Abbie. Of course the obvious question is this: what do you think?
