Description
It will be a two day, two night workshop happening in the farm country in beautiful Delaware County, NY.
It will kick off on the afternoon/evening of Friday, August 12 and end mid-day on Sunday, August 14. If you need it, come a little early for my personalized, one-on-one camera-settings checkup with cocktails/dinner on the deck overlooking the pond (with a sunset/clouds shoot if we’re lucky!)
And then we’ll spend the next two days shooting photographs. As always with photography, this will all be wrapped up in a discussion about working with mastering or reviewing your camera settings, lighting, composition, and other tips and techniques. We’ll shoot in various locations around the property and the county, on nearby farms, and possibly a variety of scenic local spots including animals, people, barns, machinery, birds, flowers, landscapes and plenty of rural Americana. We’re going to do out best to find a field of blooming sunflowers (local farmers rotate their crops so it’s different fields every year) and finish up on Sunday morning at one of New York state’s most quintessential county fairs. (The fair in Charlotte’s Web got nothing on this one; it’s beyond sweet.)
You’ll be driven to all of these locations in vans or buses. Oh, and of course, we’ll give you some free time to wander around the farm and avail yourself of the swimming pond, the boating pond, a walk or jog along the winding dirt roads, hiking “the up and over” to Blueberry Hill, or just lounging on the deck or grass. You’ll have a memorable weekend in a bucolic setting, immersed in traditional, sustainable farm life and photography.
You’ll leave relaxed, refreshed and re-energized, full of fresh-picked, local, home-grown, organic, grass-fed and, above all else, delicious home-cooked meals; with deeper photographic knowledge and skills (not to mention some farming knowledge and skills!); wonderful new photo-friends, and the confidence, creativity and control of your camera to consistently shoot the photos you’ve always dreamed of.
