26. Susan Lefebvre Bennett

This is on (or near) Susan’s sister’s ranch in Oregon. (People is Oregon have ranches.) The long held family tradition—probably as old as photography itself—says you get your picture taken on the rock. This is one of those places you will always be able to go back to—either in the photograph or the hike out to the rock. Not all of us are so lucky to have this vista on our property, but if you think about it there is almost always a place you can photograph the kids and they can come back to it to relive the portrait session from decades ago. This is one of the things that photography does best.
